Safeguarding Children in Sport

Duration

4

Suitable for

Anyone working with children through sports, trips, residentials, clubs, camps, extracurricular activities or other settings outside the classroom.

Location

Online, Face to face

The training, equivalent to level 2, explores the safeguarding responsibilities of those working directly with children, helping participants recognise concerns, understand appropriate professional boundaries, respond to disclosures, identify signs of abuse and neglect, and know when and how to report concerns.

It is particularly relevant for anyone delivering activities away from the classroom, off-site, during school trips, residentials, fixtures, tournaments, camps or extracurricular programmes, where safeguarding risks and responsibilities can be different from those within the school environment.
