  • Scrutiny increases
  • The decision is not straightforward

Our Support Examples

Real Safeguarding Support. Real Situations.

Every safeguarding context is different. Our members contact us when situations are complex, sensitive, or unfolding quickly.

These examples illustrate the type of safeguarding support our team provides to organisations navigating real-world challenges.

Allegation Raised

The call came late in the evening.

A historical allegation relating to a former staff member had surfaced, prompting questions from governors and speculation among parents. With no local advisory contact available, the Head contacted our member support line. Our team guided the school through allegation procedures, documentation and appropriate communication, helping leaders manage the situation calmly and in line with safeguarding best practice.

Complex Disclosure

The disclosure was made quietly.

A child shared information that, in another jurisdiction, would have required an immediate formal report. In this country, however, escalation carried legal and cultural risks especially for child. Through our member support service, the safeguarding lead worked with our team to assess the situation carefully and identify protective actions that prioritised the child’s welfare within the local context.

Staff Conduct Concern

The information emerged informally.

A colleague reported that a staff member had received a police caution overseas, which later surfaced publicly through social media. Leaders needed to determine whether the matter constituted misconduct, a safeguarding concern, or both. Our team supported the organisation in undertaking a structured risk assessment and agreeing proportionate next steps aligned with safeguarding best practice.
