Course Summary
From September 2020 it will become a statutory requirement that mental health and wellbeing is taught in all schools as part of the national curriculum.
This course is designed to support the designated mental health and wellbeing leads in secondary schools to understand their role and the important part they play in keeping children and young people safe in education.
It is important that mental health and wellbeing is taught in a contextual way that is both age appropriate and takes into consideration the contextual safeguarding needs of the school. This course promotes the emotional wellbeing and resilience of children and good mental health in order to address any issues before they escalate.
This course is a Level 3
DESIGNATED MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING LEAD (SECONDARY) LEVEL 3
This course is aimed for delegates who will hold the position of the designated mental health and wellbeing lead within a secondary school setting.
