From March 2026, we are strengthening our membership model to better recognise organisations that place safeguarding at the heart of their leadership, culture, and practice.
Our enhanced Registered Membership continues to support organisations with professional safeguarding expertise, guidance, and community, while a new pathway to The Safeguarding Alliance Accreditation provides external recognition for organisations demonstrating established and effective safeguarding practice.
Together, these two membership models reflect a shared commitment: ensuring safeguarding is embedded, accountable, and continuously strengthened.

Important Note
Registered Membership demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to safeguarding and its alignment with The Safeguarding Alliance’s safeguarding principles.
However, Registered Membership does not constitute accreditation, endorsement, or verification of an organisation’s safeguarding practice. External review and verification take place only as part of The Safeguarding Alliance Accreditation process.
Registered Membership ensures safeguarding leaders are never navigating complexity alone.
Accreditation will formally launch in September 2026. Organisations interested in participating in the first accreditation cycle are invited to register an Expression of Interest.
Accredited Membership is awarded to organisations that have demonstrated sustained safeguarding leadership, accountability, and measurable safeguarding practice through an independent accreditation process.

The Accreditation Pathway
Accreditation is not automatic. Organisations must first be Registered Members of The Safeguarding Alliance before applying and must successfully complete a structured review process designed to ensure integrity, transparency, and professional consistency.
Accreditation Fees
Accreditation fees are determined according to the size, structure, and complexity of the organisation to ensure fairness and proportionality.
All quotations cover the complete accreditation process, from the initial consultation and on-site review through to verification and certification.
Accredited Membership recognises organisations where safeguarding is independently reviewed, verified, and embedded across leadership and organisational practice.
