Legacy of Adverse Coronavirus Experiences #LACES
The Safeguarding Alliance Annual Conference is for safeguarding professionals from across the globe.
The Safeguarding Alliance is renowned for pioneering policy change and developing national strategies to tackle some of the most challenging safeguarding risks.
COVID-19 is no exception.
The Coronavirus pandemic has already had a huge impact on the lives of so many children and vulnerable adults. For practitioners it has certainly tested resilience, resources and their ability to problem solve.
Many of you will already be aware that the research and data states that Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) will impact later opportunities and wellbeing for adults unless promptly addressed. COVID-19 is the largest transnational adverse childhood experience shared by children globally.
The Safeguarding Alliance is bringing together professionals, across sectors, and around the globe to come together to develop the #LACES strategy.
Preventing #LACES requires a proactive and cohesive joined approach in order to identify and mitigate against trending risks.
Together we will not allow the impact of COVID-19 to dictate the future for generations to come.
