We welcome the recent announcement of forthcoming legislation aimed at preventing sex offenders from changing their names.👇
This marks a significant milestone in our longstanding campaign – Della’s Law.👇
We have taken a few days to digest the announcement before responding, recognising the importance of fully understanding its implications and how best we can contribute to its successful implementation.
We will continue to work with the government and Parliament, ensuring the voices of survivors are heard, and the safety of our communities is prioritised above everything.
We view this development as a positive step forward, reflecting the culmination of years of advocacy, dedication, and perseverance.
The Safeguarding Alliance’s commitment to this cause has not only been about advocating for change but also about ensuring any new legislation is comprehensive, effective, and truly reflective of the needs of survivors.
We believe that by working collaboratively with the government and Parliament, we can ensure the successful delivery of legislation that is fit for purpose.
Together, we can achieve a legislative framework that not only addresses the current loophole but also sets a precedent for future safeguarding policies.
